We have upgraded several gear grinders, with the most complex being a 7-axis CNC retrofit of a Hoffler gear grinder for David Brown Engineering in the UK. The machine was changed from a generating grinder to a form grinder with dressable wheels, using a 2-axis dressing system from the company Dr. Kaiser in Germany.

We have modernized and upgraded some of the largest floor borers in Africa, and have also supplied fully modernized machines to the USA. Our heaviest borer ever modernized was a Innocenti, model FAF 205/300, installed at David Brown Gears in Benoni, South Africa, whilst our most complex modernization project was the supply of a Tos boring machine to Lockheed Martin in Houston, Texas for the machining of parts on the Titan 4 launch vehicle.

| Modernizing a Roll grinder |

We can completely upgrade your existing conventional roll grinder to a full CNC roll grinder. We have succesfully upgraded machines originally manufactured by Waldrich, Herkules, Cincinatti, Landis, Farrel and Shibaura. The modernization can include the integration of real-time roll profile measuring systems, crack and bruise detection systems and roll management database systems.

We have supplied several CNC roll lathes to customers in the USA, with some of our more technically challenging projects including a Waldrich roll lathe for National Roll and Herkules Roll lathe for Union Electric, both based in Pennsylvania, as well a Waldrich roll lathe for United Foundries in Ohio and a Waldrich roll lathe for Rocky Mountain Steel in Colorado.

We can modernize your existing vertical borer with a CNC retrofit or the addition of a new ram featuring a live spindle, combined with upgrading the table to full C-axis capability. Our largest Vertical borer modernized to date is a Dorries VTL with a 8 meter table and 14 meter swing, installed and commissioned at Shanghai Hydo Electric Corporation.
