Machine Tool Promotions offers a fully integrated range of products and services in the machine tool field. We sell an extensive range of new machine tools, as well as used and modernized machine tools. Our rebuilding division can completely modernize your machine tools, including the mechanical and geometric rebuilding of your machines and the retrofitting of new Siemens, Fanuc, NUM or Heidenhain CNC systems. In addition to our rebuilding abilities, the division has built up a strong capability in being able to provide turnkey solutions for your automated production processes.
We can design, manufacture and commission production lines to your specifications, with specialised knowledge and experience in the automated production of threaded roof bolts for the mining sector. Our machining division provides specialized machining services and our fabrication division can provide bed and column extensions for your machine tools.

The company is established as Tooling Promotions, retailing in the engineering accessories, tooling and consumables.

Machine Tool Trading
The company acquires it own premises and ventures into machine tool trading, selling new and used machine tools.

Second Company Established
MTP is started as a second company, focusing exclusively on the rebuilding of machine tools.

Moved Premises
We move to our existing premises, initially built as a 1600 sq. meter facility with 2 overhead cranes. We acquire our first slideway grinder, a used Schmaltz of 1950's vintage.

Aschersleben Slideway Grinder
We purchase a new Aschersleben slideway grinder, for which a new extension is added to the building with a 30 ton overhead crane. The total factory area now comprises 2400 sq. meters.

CNC Retrofitting
We start with CNC retrofitting, initially only on Siemens CNC systems but soon thereafter on Fanuc CNC systems as well.

We are awarded the contract to modernize a Dorries 14 meter vertical borer, and re-install the machine at Shanghai Hydro Electric company in China.

Extended The Building
We extend the building to 3200 sq. meter by adding an assembly bay with 10 meter height under a 25 ton overhead crane.

Established Machine Shop
We establish a machine shop to perform all machining work in-house in support of the rebuilding of machine tools.

We export our 20th rebuilt machine to the USA.
2004
We add a fabrication bay and a showroom for new machine tools, with factory space now totalling 5100 sq. meters serviced by 7 overhead cranes.

We are awarded a large export contract to manufacture gasification equipment for a company in India.

Two of the original owners of the company retire.

We install our 5th CNC floor boring machine to further expand our in-house machining capacity.

We install and retrofit the Toyoda CNC portal milling machine in order to perform the production machining of railway bogies.

The company consolidates all the sister companies back into a single company again as part of a black-empowerment transaction.

We install a Plasma profile cutting machine.

We install and retrofit an ACME CNC vertical borer with 5600mm swing and 60-ton table load capacity.

Machine Tool Promotions shifted its primary focus from machining and fabrication to machine tool sales.
